Unspoken’s music has certainly captured us with fresh sounds including hits like “Start a Fire” which hit airwaves in 2014. They’ve pulled inspiration from the band’s diverse makeup including a drummer from Puerto Rico and guitarist Mike Gomez, from the Dominican Republic.
The Dominican Republic is a special place for the band. This is where Lead Singer, Chad, had his life transformed by Christ. Struggling with addiction and searching for answers, Chad took a trip there to serve. That’s when he found himself becoming more focused on others than himself. From there, he began growing his spiritual walk which would later lead to an amazing journey of sharing his testimony through music.
So when we heard that band member, Mike Gomez was departing, we realized this will have a big impact on the heart of the band. Mike has decided he would like to invest more in his family which includes three small children. The situation is easy to understand and we wish the best for his future but he will be missed. Mike often made audiences laugh with his larger than life stage performance and we know his band members will greatly miss his amazing personality on the road as well.
Thanks for the amazing years you’ve given us, Mike. May God bless your family abundantly!
