We recently got the news that singer, Jamie Grace recently went through surgery and is now in recovery. The singer announced this days later with a video blog posted on Youtube. Many fans were surprised to hear this news as there wasn’t really any clue beforehand that the singer was planning for surgery. However, Jamie has been struggling with health concerns for a while.
Ear, throat and nose issues have been very present this last year even affecting her ministry at times. She’s found herself losing her voice during shows or even just conversing on social media. She’s also battled a double ear infection that turned into a bone infection and couldn’t seem to shake back-to-back sinus infections. The singer couldn’t seem to find relief so after multiple visits to the doctor, she discovered that the culprit was a deviated septum. She also needed to have a turbinate reduction, a procedure that corrects the problem of nasal obstruction by reducing the turbinate size. There are three turbinates on each side of the nose that clean and humidify the air as it moves through your nose into your lungs. However, these turbinates can sometimes cause airway resistance. So by reducing them, Jamie should be able to breathe easier.
When first finding out about the surgical recommendation, Jamie had concerns around her vocal ability be affected. Luckily, the doctors reassured her that she’d be able to sing after recovery. The singer has had a few rough days after receiving the procedure, especially with pain and sensitivity to sound and light. But things are finally starting to get back to normal. The singer is still taking time to rest and we wish she feels better soon!
