Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is preparing to bring Follow the Star to Central Texas December 1-3 from 6:30-9:00PM. Follow The Star is an outdoor drive-through and walk-through Christmas production featuring 10 critical scenes of the life of Jesus Christ.
Professional sound, lightening and nearly 300 cast and crew members will make this a spectacular event. This production is distinct from other outdoor Christmas productions because it features not only the Nativity scene of Jesus, but His death and resurrection as well.
When asked, “why the crucifixion scene during the Christmas season?” Pastor Marty Brauer answered, “people need to know the rest of the story. This production is our gift to the community. Just as Jesus met the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of people, we intend to do the same through this production.”
Visitors can stroll along a walkway or stay in their cars to drive past 10 elaborate scenes recounting the life of Jesus Christ – from a marketplace to a secluded garden to the crucifixion – designed by church members and professional set designers.
“The production is our gift to the community,” producer and church member Renee Arndt said. “It’s something that is absolutely 100 percent local. We can help people who live right here in Cedar Park.”
Admission is free, but visitors are being asked to donate nonperishable food items and monetary donations which will be donated to Hill Country Community Ministries’ Food Pantry. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is located at 700 West Whitestone Boulevard, Cedar Park, Texas. For more information call (512) 258-6227. Find us on line at www.gstx.org.
