Central Texas has been through a difficult weekend with several tragedies happening so close to home. The largest loss of life in a hot air balloon accident in U.S. history, was recorded Saturday in Lockhart, Texas where no survivors were found at the crash site. Sixteen lives were lost and their identities are being released on KXAN. Please pray for these families as an unexpected loss is always so hard to bare.
You may have also heard about the shooting on East 6th Street that occurred at 2:00am Sunday morning. Leaving at least three injured, the shooter did take the life of 30-year-old woman, Teqnika Moultrie. Teqnika was visiting the family of her fiance’ before getting married in the Fall. Pray over Teqnika’s fiance’ and her family that they might find peace and comfort during this difficult time.
Last week, hearts ached at the news of the death of Travis County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Craig Hutchinson. His visitation is scheduled today from 1-8:00pm at Cook Walden Funeral Home and is open to the public. Tomorrow his funeral service will be held at 10:00am at Shoreline Church on Burnet Road. Please continue to pray for his family and our local law enforcement. Lift them up for the sacrifices they make to keep us safe.
Let us come together this week as a community and shower these individuals with our prayers during a time when fear and grief have taken over.
