First of all, don’t forget to tune in to our Top 50 Year End Countdown this year while you are finding fun things to do for New Year’s Eve. It starts at 7:00pm. Now that that’s out of the way, we realize that New Year’s Eve means there’s a lot going on in the city. That’s why we’re breaking it all down for you. Here’s a few events you may enjoy with the family.
If you plan to go out for the night without the kids, here are a few fun things you can do with them before your big night out:
Noon Year’s Eve at Springfree
Springfree is hosting a ‘Jump Into the New Year’ event with refreshments and a family concert featuring Big Don. Plus, there is plenty of jumping fun for the kids. You can find Springfree in the Domain at 3220 Amy Donavan Plaza #116 in Austin. The party starts at 10:00am and lasts until noon!
Noon Year’s Eve in Round Rock
The Round Rock Public Library will host a party from 11:30am to noon where crafts, dancing and countdown will be held in Meeting Room C. Children 3 and older are welcome! You can find the library on 216 E. Main St.
Noon Year’s Eve at Lake Travis
The Lake Travis Community Library will host a party with songs by Joe McDermott, crafts and snacks. The fun goes from 11:30pm- noon at 1938 Lohmans Crossing.
If you are ready for a night out on the town, head to the City of Austin’s New Year at Auditorium Shores on 800 West Riverside. The musical lineup includes Grupo Fantasma, Golden Dawn Arkestra and Carolyn Wonderland. Art and food trucks will also be available to enjoy. The free event begins at 4:00pm with a firework finale at 10:00pm.
Last, if you need a free and safe ride downtown, be sure to take advantage of Capital Metro. They will have free rides from 6:00pm to 3:00am.
