Federal judge to hear arguments on new Tsarnaev trial––A hearing is set for Tuesday for a federal judge to hear arguments on Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s request for a new trial. The defense has said that a Boston jury could not be objective. Tsarnaev was convicted and sentenced to death earlier this year for his role in the 2013 attack. Twin bombs placed near the finish line by Tsarnaev and his older brother– killed three people and injured more than 260 others.
Beware the shaker: High-salt symbol hits menus in NYC–The Big Apple’s war on bad nutrition is taking on a new enemy: salt. On Tuesday, chain restaurants in the city will have to start putting a special salt-shaker menu symbol on some highly salty dishes: those that exceed the recommended daily limit of 2,300 milligrams of sodium. Which raises the risk of high blood pressure and heart trouble.
Five hundred Austin Police officers are expecting to start wearing body cameras by next July. They will add more cameras after that until they all wear them. There was public meeting to talk about it and answer people’s questions. Chief Art Acevado said the cameras will create two way accountability.
