The FBI rescued 84 children from the grips of a multi-state human trafficking ring and arrested 120 traffickers yesterday. Operation Cross Country focused the attention of law enforcement agencies on a single goal: taking out the people who run human trafficking rings.
FBI Director Christopher Wray said, “We at the FBI have no greater mission than to protect our nation’s children from harm. Unfortunately, the number of traffickers arrested — and the number of children recovered — reinforces why we need to continue to do this important work.”
A 5,000-mile-long ‘river in the sky’ targets the Pacific Northwest with heavy rain and snow — funnel gigantic amounts of rain and snow. The ribbons of water vapor, known as atmospheric rivers, can extend thousands of miles and give fuel for massive rainstorms and floods along the West Coast.
