After a string of defeats in Iraq and Syria, hundreds of ISIS fighters are surrendering en masse. Over the last week, 1,000 members of ISIS have turned themselves in at the center of Dibis with the intention of surrender.
The remnants of Hurricane Nate, which faded to a tropical depression, got much of the Southeast with heavy rains yesterday. Nate is forecast to pass over portions of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee, dumping as much as 10 inches of rain through today. The hurricane was the first to make landfall in Mississippi since Katrina devastated much of the Gulf Coast in 2005.
The first major Fall cold front will be pushing through our area tonight. This system will drop our temperatures about 20 degrees!
Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Devante Adams with 11 seconds left in the game, to lead the Packers to a 35-31 win over the Cowboys. The Texans lost to the Chiefs 42-34.
The northbound Mopac express lane is now open from downtown to 2222. Other northbound section between 2222 and Parmer has been open for a while. The southbound lane is expected to open in late October or November. The project has been going on for four years, has had multiple delays and is tens of millions of dollars over budget.
