The Chapman family have had their fair share of ups and downs in the past decade but have always been an amazing model for fans of how to have faith through it all. Christian music legend Steven Curtis Chapman released a new book this month titled, “Between Heaven and the Real World.” It will feature intimate details of his personal journey which all begins with his childhood in Kentucky and touches on the horrible tragedy that shook their family back in 2008.
Despite all they’ve been through the family has found the strength needed to pick up the broken pieces and continue to touch lives around them. Now a new generation of Chapmans is taking the music scene by storm. Sons Caleb and Will Chapman are two of the four band members that make up Colony House. With plenty of promotion from their father, new fans are flocking to venues where the band is consistently selling out shows. Most recently they have ventured to Common Grounds in Waco and played several shows at SXSW.
We ran into a fan at the BMI Showcase in the new Yeti store on South Congress. Her name was Sheila and she discovered Colony House after attending a Steven Curtis Chapman concert where he thanked the audience for supporting his sons. She had fought traffic and crowds to see the young band perform during the SXSW music conference. The showcase was packed and only grew as the band flew through their 20 minute set.
Their success only continues to blossom with television appearances on Conan, the Today Show and Late Night with Seth Meyers. We only wish the best of luck for the brothers. With rich lyrics that reflect their faith, we know they will continue spreading the light their dad has been able to share for so many years.
