Fighting continued as Iraq’s special forces began their assault on Mosul’s eastern outskirts today, part of operations to drive the Islamic State group from the country’s second largest city. Inside the village, white flags still hung from some buildings, put up a day earlier by residents eager to show they wouldn’t resist Iraqi forces. Some residents stood outside their homes, and children raised their hands with V-for-victory signs.
Folks in some parts of the country are bracing for huge rate hikes as open enrollment starts today in the Affordable Care Act. Others are preparing to change insurers and likely doctors. The 2017 changes — come as enrollment needs a big boost, especially of younger, healthier people to help offset insurers’ costs of covering the people who are sick and have signed up so far. There has been quite a bit of criticism over the rising cost of Obamacare.

Police are investigating an accident at a Texas State fraternity party where a student lost her life after being hit by a shuttle bus.
Round Rock Police are looking for the driver of a blue 2010-2013 Mustang. The car was seen at the tragic accident that took the lives of a father and his 12 year old daughter at the corner of AW Grimes and Gattis School Road. It is also similar to another Mustang that was involved in the crash. Speed may have been a factor and they want to talk to the driver of the blue Mustang.
