A man is in jail after witnesses told police that he trapped an 8-year-old in a women’s bathroom stall at North Village Branch Library, 2505 Steck Ave. Just 30 minutes earlier, the same man tried to pick up and hold onto an 11-year-old girl at the same library. Police said both girls screamed and fought back and ultimately that is what alerted bystanders to help.
Divers recovered the body of the 30 year old man who drowned in Lake Buchanan. He had saved a child who had been struggling in the water after jumping off a boat, but then was not able to get himself back into the boat.
A disgruntled lawyer wearing military-style apparel with old Nazi emblems randomly shot at drivers in a Houston neighborhood before he was shot and killed by police. Nine people were injured during Monday morning’s shootings on the street in front of a condo complex.
Six were shot and three had eye injuries from flying glass. One person was in critical condition.
