Tropical Storm Hermine is forecast to make landfall somewhere in the Big Bend area along the Gulf of Mexico coast either as a strong tropical storm or a weak hurricane. If it attains hurricane strength before landfall, it would be the first to hit Florida since Hurricane Wilma in October 2005.

The Texas Department of Transportation is urging all toll users to pay their outstanding charges as soon as possible. Otherwise, you’ll run the risk of late fees and additional penalties. TXDOT stopped issuing late fees for unpaid bills in February 2015 because they switched billing systems. During the suspension, toll users were given monthly statements of bills that weren’t paid, but additional fees did not accumulate on top of the money owed.
Starting today it should be easier to call 911 no matter where you are. Governor Abbot signed Kari’s Law which requires businesses in Texas that use multi line phones to provide direct access to 911 without having to dial 9 to get an outside line.
