FBI Director James Comey will testify to the House Oversight Committee on today regarding the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. Attorney General Loretta Lynch decided not to press charges late yesterday, leaving Comey to answer questions from outraged public about his decision not to recommend charges. James Comey gave a scathing statement on Hillary’s use of the server earlier in the week, calling her “extremely careless” in her handling of classified information before announcing he wouldn’t recommend prosecution. The House Oversight Committee Chairman announced yesterday that James Comey would attend a hearing today because the American people “have a right to understand the depth of the FBI’s investigation.”

Attempted kidnapping reported in Brushy Creek neighborhood
A large fire at a rock quarry south of the city of Burnet has been put out by fire crews. People living within a mile of the Hanson Aggregates facility were told to evacuate their homes immediately but they’ve been allowed to return. Highway 281 was closed in both directions but it has reopened.
Sheriff’s deputies say they’re investigating an attempted kidnapping of two 10-year-old girls Saturday night. It happened in the Brushy Creek neighborhood, west of Round Rock. One of the girl’s mothers says the girls were outside playing with the hose at around 8:30 p.m. They ran down to the end of the cul-de-sac, when a silver sedan approached them. Two men were in the car and tried to lure the girls, telling them to come look at a dog in the car.
