May 4th is commonly known as Star Wars Day and in efforts to Keep Austin Weird, there’s always plenty to do to celebrate it! We’ve compiled a list of family friendly activities for you to enjoy today if you’re as big of a fan as we are!
Stouthaus Coffee Pub
Activities are scheduled all day from 8:00am- 8:00pm with all ages welcome. This free event includes screenings of Episode II-VII including popcorn and movie snacks. You can even get a Yoda Soda! If that’s not enough, enjoy the photo booth and enter to win door prizes. There’s also an award up for best costume.
Austin Public Library Yarborough Branch
Starting at 3:30 today, you have a chance to practice and expand your inner Jedi skills. Enjoy crafts and a cosplay fashion show while you’re there. This event is recommended for children ages 5-12.
Austin Public Library Manchaca Road Branch
Come by and make some of your favorite Star Wars characters into puppets starting at 3:30 today! This event is recommended for children ages 5 and up.
Celebrate at the Domain this evening from 5:30 to 7:30 with cosplay and photo opportunities with storm troopers. There will be vintage Star Wars Pinballz machines and open game play of Battlefront. You can also get Star Wars snacks and make themed crafts.
Barnes and Noble
Head to the Arboretum to play Star Wars X-Wing and celebrate all things Star Wars starting at 6:30pm.
Art for the People Gallery
