An Air Egypt plane has been hijacked by a man claiming to be wearing a suicide bomb belt. He ordered the plane to be flown to Cyprus. After it landed he let everybody but three passengers and four crew members go. But it doesn’t seem to be a terrorist act in the sense we’ve come to know. He asked to have an envelope delivered to a woman. It is not clear what her relationship with him is.
Eight hundred airport workers will stage a mock check-in today at Brussels Airport’s temporary facilities set up in the wake of last week’s terror attacks. Flights will remain grounded as the ‘major test’ takes place to gauge the effectiveness of the temporary set-up. Many of the world’s big airlines have expanded their flexible rebooking policies since bombs killed 35 and injured more than 270 at the airport and a nearby subway station one week ago. The new security measures are being implemented at all Belgian airports.
A nurse stepped into action and saved a motorcyclist yesterday afternoon. DPS troopers said a 67-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle as he crossed the railroad tracks on County Road 200 in Liberty Hill on Monday afternoon. A passing nurse saw the crash and pulled him off the tracks.
