The Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN), a network of over 158 churches in the Greater Austin area, is deployed providing assistance to families of the floods. ADRN has been asked by the City of Austin to provide a minimum of 75 volunteers for cleanup through Saturday.
Volunteers are asked to bring wheelbarrows, shovels, gloves, crowbars, hammers & wear boots / jeans. Bring lunch and water for the day. Deployment location is located at the Crossroads Christian House of Prayer (5201 E William Cannon Dr, Austin, Tx). Teams will be debriefed and deployed into the field to assist families in the muck out of their homes. Volunteers are asked to be ADRN badged, but it is not required. General volunteers may sign up to deploy with ADRN teams. Volunteers can sign up through this link: https://docs.google.com/a/adrntx.org/forms/d/1kLOzr6iPlyYyVPDaHjMJwTYQQAMYGR9hFr8JuFHBSc/viewform.
Funds to help meet the emergency needs of hundreds of flood families are running out. 6,000 families have been impacted by the flooding. The organization has only raised around $5,000 but has given out $120,000 in immediate assistance to flood survivors. ADRN is housing 26 families in hotels and the Hope thrift store is giving away between $2,000 and $5,000 in clothing and goods each day for free.
