Jordan Spieth goes for third consecutive major when the British Open tees off in St. Andrews, Scotland, on Thursday. He would become only the second man to win the Masters, the U.S. Open and the British Open in the same calendar year. (Ben Hogan did it in 1953.)
Former President George H.W. Bush is in stable condition after falling and breaking a bone in his neck. He is 91 years old and is in a hospital in Maine.
A man was bumped from a flight he was going to be with Governor Abbot at JFK Airport in New York. He yelled obscenities at the governor over his stance on traditional marriage. Texas DPS officers told the man to step back, and New York authorities detained him and he didn’t get on the flight. The governor’s wife and daughter were with him.
APD says the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian near 183 and Loyola left the scene. They continue to investigate. The pedestrian was a woman, believed to be in her 20s.
The controversial military training program known as Operation Jade Helm 15 has launched in several Texas towns including Bastrop. Many people expected something dramatic like tanks rolling down the street but it’s been much more subtle. It is supposed to last for eight weeks.
