A group of engineering students from Texas A&M returning from a holiday road trip to New Orleans crashed into a pickup truck on a dark road in Montgomery County Sunday night, sending all five of the students to area hospitals renewing calls for state highway officials to widen the accident-prone section of State Highway 105 just west of the Montgomery County line.
A football team for underprivileged youth is asking for your help. Thousands of dollars in uniforms and equipment has been stolen from the team van. Plus, the thief or thieves made off with kids’ personal clothing, video games, cameras, and even a backpack carrying the birth certificates required to play. The team is part of the non-profit North Dallas Youth Program, which serves underprivileged kids. The uniforms, equipment, and trip out of town was made possible with donations and the coaches’ own money.
